Van Dusen Clockworks

Van Dusen Clockworks constructs one-of-a-kind functional sculptures, wonderful, sculptural, whimsical clocks, lamps and a series of robots called The Minutemen. Combining antique and vintage items carefully selected from their extensive collection of beautiful objects.

A husband and wife team, Jon and Lisa Van Dusen both graphic designers love to source parts from flea markets, estate sales and farm auctions. Collectors for years, they live with vintage finds throughout their home.

Each piece they create is constructed of unique vintage and antique findings and the clocks are fully functional with a quartz movement. Some include hand carvings created by the Van Dusen team.
All pieces are named and numbered with a custom metal plate and ship with a vintage pocket-watch hang tag. The entire process takes 60-80 hours from designing and sourcing the objects to engineering the seamless construction.

Wild Thing

This sculptural timepiece is built on an Art Deco style body once an aftermarket heater for early automobiles, but this one is customized with blue LED ground effects. In keeping with the auto theme, the wings are from a 1931 Flying Goddess hood ornament coupled with a motorcycle headlamp. Its vintage industrial look and natural patina, adds to the character and charm of the clock. Wild Thing makes a great sculptural side table night light, as well as a functional working clock with a new quartz movement.

Winning Time

This large folk art assemblage, although great for a game room, is perfect for any room in ones home.  It uses two vintage industrial gear molds as its base. Mounted to these is the antique pinball game board known as Kickback.  Across the base of this game runs an antique wooden score keeping line and is framed by vintage croquet mallets.  The clock is fully functional and has a swinging pendulum comprised of 3 vintage mettle toy wheels, each with a typewriter key fixed to it that spells out "win"
